existing cobo hall blocks three major city streets from visual and physical access to the riverfront. this design proposes to rebuild cobo underground with the floor level with the riverwalk and the roof level with the city, thus removing this barrier, providing a park on the roof and allowing the center to engage with the riverwalk.

jefferson barrier
jefferson is pedestrian barrier between seven major downtown streets and the waterfront. this design proposes to submerge jefferson and build over it to allow free pedestrian access to the river.
